Camponotus mutilarius is a monogynous ant species with a colony size of up to 1000 workers. It has a slow development rate and its size ranges from 13-16mm for queens, 6-10mm for workers, and 9-12mm for majors. The ants are mostly black with red-orange spots on the chest and abdomen. They primarily feed on food insects like cockroaches and crickets, as well as syrup made from water and honey.
