Polyrhachis halidayi is a fast-developing ant species with a polygynous colony type. The colony can have up to 5000 workers. The queen of this ant species measures 8-10mm in size, while the workers are 6-8mm. They have a black body with a brown-dark abdomen. Their nutrition includes food insects, syrup, fruit, vegetables, jelly, and cooked chicken without salt.
