ANTonTOP ships ant keeping accessories 12 months a year, because every order leaves Poland in seasonal thermal packaging matched to the destination weather. Winter orders include a 72-hour heat pack that keeps the contents above 18 °C even when outdoor temperatures drop below freezing. Summer orders include a cool gel pack and ventilated packaging that hold the contents below 28 °C through heat waves.

Inside Poland we ship via InPost parcel locker (1 to 2 business days). Across the EU and to the United Kingdom we ship via DHL Express (2 to 3 business days for EU destinations, 4 to 7 business days for the UK). No import paperwork is required from you — we handle every shipment the same way as inside the EU.

Every accessory in our catalogue is one we use ourselves at our Poland workshop — the same tweezers we move queens with, the same hygrometers we monitor formicariums with. We do not list tools we have not personally tested.

How to choose the right accessories

If you are starting a first colony: tweezers (soft-tip), a hygrometer, and a drinking plate sized for a small colony. That is enough to manage daily care of a founding queen up to 100 workers.

If you keep multiple species: add anti-static ultra-soft tweezers for small species, a digital thermo-hygrometer with logging, and a heat mat with thermostat for tropical species in winter.

If you have a large display colony: a larger drinking plate, a dedicated cleaning tweezer set, and Fluon or PTFE escape-prevention barrier liquid for the arena rim.

The minimum: a pair of soft-tip tweezers, a hygrometer, and a drinking plate. Add a heat mat for tropical species, and Fluon or talc for arena escape-proofing once the colony reaches foraging size.

Why do I need anti-static tweezers?

Anti-static tweezers are essential for small species (Monomorium, Pheidole minors, founding callow workers). Standard tweezers carry a small charge that can stick to or stun tiny ants.

How do I measure humidity in a formicarium?

Place a small hygrometer inside the nest section (or the arena, depending on which value you want to track). Digital probe-type units are most accurate. Aim for 40-60 % nest humidity for most species, 60-80 % in the arena.

What is a tube holder?

A tube holder is a stand that keeps a test tube nest upright and connected to an arena, so the founding queen has a stable home before moving to a full formicarium. We sell adjustable stands for 16 and 20 mm tubes.

Are accessories compatible with all formicariums?

Tweezers, hygrometers, and most decor items are universal. Tubing-based accessories (tube holders, drinking plate stands) match the standard 16 mm tube diameter we use in all our formicaria.

What is the difference between standard and anti-static tweezers?

Standard tweezers are stainless steel and accumulate a small static charge. Anti-static tweezers use a conductive coating or carbon-fibre material that neutralises charge on contact — safer for handling small or callow workers.
