Description

Peel the foil, drop it in, watch the brood grow. Jelly Food White Protein is a sealed, ready-to-feed protein cup (approx. 16 g) of soft white paste — the cleanest way to put protein in front of larvae, no live or frozen prey to handle. Stays fresh 4–7 days in the arena. Taken by most omnivorous and carnivorous species, and even harvester ants like Messor feed on it for brood protein. Run it alongside our carbohydrate jellies for a balanced diet.

Description

Jelly Food White Protein — protein cup for ant brood feeding

Jelly Food White Protein takes the convenience of our carbohydrate jelly cups and loads it with protein instead of sugar — the difference between fuelling adult workers and feeding growing larvae. It is a soft white paste in a single-use cup of about 16 g: peel the foil, set the cup in the outworld, and the colony carries the protein back to the brood itself. For keepers across Europe it is the clean, no-mess answer to live or frozen crickets, and the protein source most species reach for while raising brood. It was made originally as premium beetle jelly and is fully ant-safe. Ships from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery.

What it is and why it works

Protein is what builds larvae. Carbohydrate keeps the adult workers running, but the grubs grow on animal protein, and a steady supply is what lets a colony put on numbers quickly. This jelly delivers that protein in a stable, pre-portioned cup — nothing to breed, thaw or gut-load. You keep the cups on a shelf and open one when the colony is rearing brood. The sealed format means almost no smell and very little waste next to live feeding.

Who it is for

Keepers of most omnivorous and carnivorous species who want protein ready to go, from a first founding colony to a breeder running many setups. It suits anyone who would rather not keep live insects at home, and the single-cup size makes portioning simple whether the colony is small or large.

How to use it

Peel back the foil and set the cup in the outworld or on a feeding dish. Replace it every 3–5 days, and refill more often for colonies raising a lot of larvae. Clear leftovers before they dry to keep mould and mites away. Offer it heavily through the active brood phase — spring to summer for temperate species, year-round for tropical ones — and ease off during a winter rest.

Care and maintenance

Sealed cups keep for months in the cupboard. Once a cup is opened, refrigerate it and use within about a month. Always feed from the cup or a clean dish rather than tipping paste onto the substrate, and clear any uneaten jelly promptly — a clean arena is most of brood-feeding hygiene.

Pairs well with

Run it alongside our carbohydrate jellies, which feed the adult workers, for a complete diet. A drinking dish and soft tweezers round out a tidy feeding station. Cricket Jam is a comparable protein option in paste form if you would rather have a jar than a cup. Harvester keepers should make seeds (our grain sets) the staple and use this only as occasional brood protein.

FAQ

Does it replace live crickets?
For most species, mostly — it is a clean, convenient protein supplement that covers brood-rearing. A few still benefit from the odd live prey item, so offer one occasionally if you wish.

Will harvester ants like Messor eat it?
Most omnivorous and carnivorous species take it readily, and harvester ants such as Messor will also feed on it for brood protein alongside their seeds.

How long does a cup last?
About 4–7 days in the arena. Replace it every 3–5 days, or sooner for colonies raising heavy brood.

How do I store it?
Sealed cups keep for months. Once opened, refrigerate the cup and use it within about a month.

How big is one cup?
A single-use cup of approximately 16 g, sized to feed a colony over several days.

Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes. We dispatch within 24 h from Poland with tracked delivery across the EU, the UK and worldwide.

A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.
