The formicarium is ideal for medium and large ants such as: Messor structor/barbarus/arenarius/cephalothes, Camponotus nicobarensis/fedtschenkoi/irritans/pseudolendus/CA02, Myrmecocystus, Myrmicaria, Formica, Monomorium, Pheidole

This formicarium is an excellent choice for raising ants. It’s a sponge-like material housed in an acrylic frame with good ventilation and visibility. This formicarium allows your colony to decide on the appearance of their nest. Before settling in, we recommend thoroughly wetting the sponge. This can be done by disassembling the formicarium or by pouring water through the top lid using a needle or syringe. Afterward, we recommend making a small depression in the sponge so the queen can hide there or workers can begin excavating in this area. In the future, we recommend reducing the amount of moisture in the formicarium or varying the amount of moisture, allowing the colony to choose ideal locations with ideal conditions.
