Description

Modular Arena 10×10 cm — clear acrylic foraging outworld for small-to-medium ant colonies

This clear acrylic arena is the entry point to the ANTonTOP modular system’s outworld side, joining the nest so the colony has room to hunt, carry food and explore. It measures 10×10×10 cm and pairs with any 10×10 modular nest, giving small-to-medium colonies a proportionate, escape-resistant place to stay active. Four lockable nut-and-screw entrances, a single 8 mm tubing port and laser-cut micro-perforation slot it into a modular build. Orders ship from Poland year-round with heat or cool packs and a live-arrival guarantee, across the EU, the UK and worldwide.

Why add an arena

Ants forage, feed and dump waste away from the brood, and an arena gives them that separate space while keeping the nest clean, dry and easy to watch out in the open. Keeping feeding apart from the nest is one of the simplest ways to keep a colony healthy and a setup mould-free — which is exactly what a first arena is for.

How the modular system grows

Like every piece in the range, the arena links through standard lockable ports. Run a tube from the nest, add more modules as the colony grows, and build a custom setup without forcing a stressful full move. The 8 mm port matches the 10×10 nest range and carries on to further modules. As the colony outgrows the 10×10, the larger 20×10 and 20×20 arenas extend the same system.

Setup and escape protection

Smooth acrylic walls and nut-and-screw entrance caps keep the colony where it belongs. Close the ports you are not using, tube the ones you want, and the arena stays secure. Laser-cut micro-perforation moves air through without giving the smallest workers a way out, keeping the space dry and discouraging mould. For determined climbers, a light barrier such as PTFE or talc at the rim adds extra insurance.

Decorate and feed

This is the part you get to design. A layer of sand, a few stones, cork bark or a cushion of moss turns the arena into a natural landscape with surfaces to explore. It is also where the colony eats: set down a drinker, a little protein and some sugar or ant jelly, and watch the foragers carry it home. Spot-clean leftovers so the space stays fresh; the smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear.

Pairs well with

Any 10×10 modular nest, connecting tubing, a drinker and ant jelly for feeding, and sand, stones or moss to decorate. The larger 20×10 and 20×20 arenas extend the same modular system as the colony grows.

FAQ

What does an arena do?
It is the foraging and feeding space outside the nest, where the colony hunts, eats and dumps waste, which keeps the nest clean and dry.

Which nest does this arena fit?
It is sized for any 10×10 modular nest and connects to any ANTonTOP modular nest through a standard tube.

How do I stop ants escaping?
Close unused ports with their nut-and-screw caps (a screwdriver is handy here); smooth acrylic walls and micro-perforation venting do the rest, with a light rim barrier for determined climbers.

What size colony is it for?
Small-to-medium colonies. Step up to the 20×10 or 20×20 arena as the colony grows.

Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes. We dispatch from Poland with tracked delivery across the EU, the UK and worldwide.

A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.
