Description

Gypsum and modular nests are full of corners and side chambers a straight tip can’t reach without your hand bumping the wall. These anti-static tweezers solve it with a bent fine tip that turns into the corner while your hand stays outside. Same 15 cm ESD-safe stainless build as the straight pair, angled for tight, compartmented work. Wipes clean with isopropyl alcohol.

Description

Anti-static tweezers — angled fine tip for tight formicarium spaces

These 15 cm anti-static tweezers share the ESD-safe stainless-steel build of the straight version, but the fine tip is bent at an angle to reach into corners, side chambers and curved corridors a straight tip works awkwardly. The bend keeps your hand outside the formicarium while the working end turns into a corner, which means less wrist strain and far less risk of knocking the wall. The anti-static treatment makes them safe around brood and sensitive materials, and they wipe down with isopropyl alcohol between species. Ships from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery.

Why anti-static, and when angled wins

In dry winter air, acrylic and metal build a static charge, and a discharge you cannot feel is enough to disturb fragile brood. The anti-static tip removes that risk. The angled geometry adds reach: for narrow corridors in gypsum models and modular acrylic nests, or for getting into corners and side chambers at a comfortable angle, the angled pair is the right pick. For open-arena work, flat-surface brood and food placement, the straight tip is faster, so most experienced keepers own both.

Who it’s for

Keepers running modular or compartmented nests, gypsum and ytong formicaria, and any setup with corners or chambers a straight tip cannot reach cleanly. It suits careful brood work in tight spaces more than bulk arena handling.

How to use them

Hold near the joint and let the angled tip do the reaching. Approach brood from the side and lift gently, letting the tip support rather than pinch, since the metal tip is firm even with the anti-static finish. Wipe the tips with isopropyl alcohol between sessions. For the most fragile material such as eggs and L1 larvae, reach for soft or ultra-soft tweezers, which pad the contact point.

Care and maintenance

Wipe with isopropyl alcohol between sessions and store dry. Avoid harsh detergents that can degrade the anti-static treatment. The angled tip is the most delicate part, so do not store it loose at the bottom of a drawer with other tools, where the alignment can be knocked out. Kept clean and protected, the stainless body lasts for years.

Pairs well with

The straight-tip anti-static tweezers for open-arena work and flat-surface brood. A magnifying loupe for brood inspection as you work. Soft or ultra-soft tweezers for the gentlest egg and early-larva handling. Modular and gypsum formicaria from our range, where the angled reach earns its keep.

FAQ

How much is the tip bent?
Roughly 30–45°. Enough to clear corners without making the tweezers awkward to control in open space.

Can I bend it back straight?
No. The angle is set in manufacturing, and bending stainless steel by hand damages the tip alignment. If you need a straight tool, buy the straight version.

Better for brood or for arena work?
Better for tight-space brood work in modular formicaria. For brood on a flat surface or in open arenas, the straight version is more efficient.

Are they safe for brood?
Yes, the anti-static treatment makes them safe around brood and sensitive materials. For the very softest stages such as eggs and L1 larvae, soft or ultra-soft tweezers are gentler still.

How do I sterilise them between colonies?
Wipe the tips with isopropyl alcohol between sessions and store dry. Avoid harsh detergents that can degrade the anti-static finish.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We dispatch from Poland with tracked delivery across the EU, the UK and worldwide.
