Anti-Static Tweezers – Angled Tip
Anti-Static Tweezers (angled tip) have the same ESD-safe stainless construction as the straight version, but bent at an angle to improve access in tight formicarium spaces, corners, and curved corridors where a straight tip is awkward to manoeuvre. If you regularly work inside smaller formicaria or modular nests with narrow passages, the angled tip makes a noticeable practical difference.
Specifications
- Tip: angled fine tip
- Material: stainless steel with anti-static treatment
- Anti-static: yes – safe for brood and sensitive materials
- Sterilisable: yes – wipe with isopropyl alcohol
When to Choose Angled Over Straight
If you work inside smaller formicaria with narrow corridors – gypsum models, modular acrylic nests – or need to reach into corners and side chambers that a straight tip cannot access at a comfortable angle, the angled version is the right pick. The bent tip lets your hand stay outside the formicarium while the working end goes around a corner. Less wrist strain, less risk of bumping the formicarium wall.
For open arena work, brood transfer on flat surfaces, and food placement, the Straight Tip is faster. Most experienced keepers own both.
How to Use Them
Hold the tweezers near the joint and let the angled tip do the reaching: the bend keeps your hand clear of the formicarium wall while the tip turns into a corner or side chamber. Approach brood from the side and lift gently, letting the tip support rather than pinch. Wipe the tips with isopropyl alcohol between sessions and store the angled end protected so it keeps its alignment.
Compatibility
- Works inside all acrylic, gypsum, and ytong formicaria
- Pair with the Straight-Tip version for open-arena work
- Use alongside our magnifying loupe for precise brood inspection
Care & Maintenance
Wipe with isopropyl alcohol between sessions. Store dry. The angled tip is the most fragile part – do not store loose at the bottom of a drawer with other tools.
What’s in the Box
- 1 × anti-static tweezers, angled fine tip
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is the tip bent?
Roughly 30–45°. Enough to clear corners without making the tweezers awkward to control in open space.
Can I bend it back straight?
No – the angle is part of the manufacturing and bending stainless steel by hand damages the tip alignment. Buy the straight version if that is what you need.
Better for brood or for arena work?
Better for tight-space brood work in modular formicaria. For brood on a flat surface or in open arenas, the straight version is more efficient.
