Anti-Static Tweezers – Straight Fine Tip
Anti-Static Tweezers (straight tip) combine stainless steel construction with ESD-safe treatment – designed to prevent static buildup and discharge when handling ant brood, pupae, and delicate materials inside formicariums. The fine straight tip allows precise placement and manipulation in confined spaces.
Specifications
- Tip: straight fine tip
- Material: stainless steel with anti-static treatment
- Anti-static: yes – safe for brood and sensitive materials
- Sterilisable: yes – wipe with isopropyl alcohol
Straight vs Angled Tip
Anti-Static Tweezers Straight (this product) are best for direct, forward-facing work – picking up brood lying flat on a surface, placing food items, or working in open arena spaces. For work in tighter angles or curved formicarium corridors, the Angled-Tip version offers better access. Both are anti-static and safe for brood handling. Most keepers eventually buy both.
When to Use Them
Use whenever you handle ant brood and want both anti-static safety and precision. The straight fine tip is more precise than soft tweezers and more brood-safe than standard stainless. The compromise is that the tip is still hard – if you grip too tightly, you can damage very fragile larvae. For the most delicate material (eggs, L1 larvae), use Ultra-Soft Tweezers instead.
How to Use Them
Grip the tweezers near the joint rather than the tip for the finest pressure control. Approach brood flat-on, slide the straight tip underneath, and lift with the lightest pressure you can manage, since the tip is hard and should support rather than pinch. Keep your hand outside the formicarium and let only the working end enter, then wipe the tips with isopropyl alcohol before and after handling brood.
Compatibility
- Works inside all acrylic, gypsum, and ytong formicaria
- Pair with the Angled-Tip version for tight corridors
- Use alongside our magnifying loupe for precise brood inspection
Care & Maintenance
Wipe with isopropyl alcohol between sessions. Avoid harsh detergents that may degrade the anti-static treatment. Store dry. Stainless body is durable; the anti-static coating will last years of regular use.
What’s in the Box

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from ESD Tweezers?
Both have anti-static protection. ESD Tweezers are specifically marketed for electrostatic discharge work and tend to be slightly longer (15 cm). The Anti-Static range is compact and tip-focused. For practical ant keeping, either works on brood.
Straight or angled – which first?
Start with straight if you have only one. It handles 80% of use cases. Add angled later for tight-space work.
