The stepped pyramids of the Maya were built during the Classic and Postclassic periods (600–1200 AD). El Castillo at Chichén Itzá and the Temple of Kukulcán are the most famous. The four staircases of El Castillo contain 365 steps total – one for each day of the solar year. Twice a year, at the equinoxes, the shadow of the pyramid’s edge falls on the staircase to create the illusion of a serpent descending.

Place in the open arena. It works in arenas of all sizes – even compact acrylic setups like the Ziom or Comfort, right up to large terrariums. The stepped form gives ants natural climbing routes.

Wipe with a soft damp cloth when needed. Resin is waterproof – rinse under running water if soiled. Avoid harsh detergents and prolonged direct sunlight. Air-dry before returning to the arena.
