Vivid grass green that brings a meadow to the arena floor — a fresh, planted base for woodland and forest scenes, made for miniature trees and moss stones. Grass green quartz sand for woodland and meadow ant arenas
Of all the greens in the range, this is the one keepers reach for to build a meadow. A fresh, saturated grass green makes a forest- or meadow-themed arena feel alive before a single piece of decor goes in, pairing naturally with miniature trees, moss stones and woodland accents. It is inert silica quartz, dyed with non-toxic colour and washed clean, with a very fine grain of roughly 0.01–0.05 mm (well under 1 mm). It comes in an 8×4×2 cm bag and ships from Poland across the EU, UK and worldwide.
What grass green does in an arena
The colour is fixed to each grain rather than loosely coated, so spraying or rinsing won’t wash green into the water dish or stain the acrylic. As true quartz it holds a sculpted surface and does not break down with handling. The lively, planted look reads as living ground and gives darker ants a strong backdrop.

How to use it
Pour a 1–2 cm layer across the floor, level it dry, and build decor on top. Tunnelling species such as Messor, Lasius and Formica work fine quartz much as they would natural sand, so a deeper bed gives visible burrowing. Pair it with a decorative forest-trees set for a meadow-forest scene, or blend with natural sand for a softer green.

Miniature forest trees and moss stones for a woodland scene, light-green quartz for a layered meadow, and brown quartz for a forest-floor base. Add stone landmarks for a complete natural biotope.

Is the colour safe for ants?
Yes. It is inert quartz with a non-toxic colourant, fixed to the grain and safe in direct contact.
Will it bleed if the arena is sprayed?
No. The colour is bonded to each grain, so misting or rinsing won’t tint the water or acrylic.
Can I mix it with natural sand?
Yes. Blending with natural beige sand gives a softer, more muted green.
Will ants tunnel in it?
Most digging species — Messor, Lasius, Formica — tunnel in it much as they do in natural sand.
How is it different from light green?
Grass green is a vivid, saturated meadow tone; light green is a paler pastel for a gentler background.
