Breeding Kit 4 — the most complete large modular ant keeping hardware bundle (no colony)
This is the kit that leaves nothing to add later. Breeding Kit 4 is the fullest bundle in the range: a large 20×20 cm modular nest and a matching 20×20 cm arena, dressed with sand and decorations and packed with the tools the cheaper kits leave out: a magnifying glass for watching the brood up close and a thermometer for keeping an eye on the setup, on top of a feeder, screwdriver and tweezers. There is no colony in the box; this is everything around a large colony, ready for the ants you supply.

A real home, with the tools that set it apart
The 20×20 cm nest is the largest standard modular nest we make, with 9 mm chambers, eight lockable entrances and four latches for staged expansion, paired with a matching arena. Eight entrances run arenas, outworlds and further modules off in any direction; the four latches release the nest a quarter at a time so a colony settles before it spreads. What makes this the complete kit is the observation gear: the magnifying glass brings the brood, queen and early workers into focus, and the thermometer tells you whether the setup sits in the right range for your species. It is the same 3 mm layered acrylic used across the range, with real humidification and screw-locked access rather than a loose clip-on lid. Add three bags of quartz sand, three decorations, a feeder with jelly food, a screwdriver and tweezers, and you can dress, watch and run the colony without buying a thing.
Who it’s for, and as a gift
This is a setup for the serious keeper who already has a queen, moved from a test tube or caught on a local flight, and wants a large modular home with the watching tools built in. No queen yet? Pair it with a live colony from our species range, or take a complete kit with the colony, formicarium and food in one box. With the observation gear included, it makes a standout gift for a keeper ready to go big.
Setting up and feeding
Assemble the formicarium, moisten the two humidification chambers, connect the nest to the arena, and lay a thin bed of the included sand across the arena floor with a few decorations. Open the nest with the four latches in stages rather than all at once — a small colony in a fully open 20×20 will not settle. Introduce your queen or colony, keep it warm and quiet, and feed the species you keep to its own diet using the feeder and jelly food. The 10 mm ports tie the nest into the rest of our modular system as the colony expands past the 20×20.
Delivery and live arrival guarantee
We ship year-round, packed to protect the acrylic and any substrate in transit. A tracking number goes out on dispatch day, and every part is checked before it leaves us; if anything arrives damaged, contact us and we will replace it.
FAQ
What makes this the most complete kit?
It is the only one with observation and monitoring tools — a magnifying glass and a thermometer — on top of the largest standard modular nest and arena, plus sand, decorations, feeder, jelly food, screwdriver and tweezers.
Isn’t the 20×20 too large to start a colony in?
Use the four latches — open one section and expand in stages. A small colony in a fully open 20×20 nest will not settle, so staged expansion is the way to start.
Are ants included?
No. You get the nest, arena, sand, feeder, jelly food, screwdriver, tweezers, magnifying glass and thermometer, but no colony. Add your own queen or buy one from our range.
I don’t have a queen yet — is that a problem?
No. Many keepers buy a breeding kit before flight season so the home is ready, or pair it with a live colony or a complete kit.
How long does delivery take?
1 to 2 days inside Poland (InPost); 2 to 3 days to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium (DHL); 3 to 5 days to France and the rest of the EU; 5 to 9 days to the United Kingdom; worldwide tracked and quoted at checkout.
