Porte Saint-Denis Miniature — Paris

Position the arch over a forager route and the passage becomes a genuine doorway between zones — ants stream through it and climb to the top, which gives the scene a lived-in feel a closed model never manages. Cast in inert resin, it is safe for direct ant contact. It anchors a Paris or classical-Europe theme and works as the natural partner to the Eiffel Tower for a fuller Parisian arena. The detailing shows best against a contrasting substrate.

Stand it on the substrate where the arch frames a path between zones, ideally lined up with an existing trail so the gateway effect pays off. The Porte Saint-Denis stands on the Right Bank in Paris, built in 1672 to mark Louis XIV’s victories on the Rhine. François Blondel and sculptor Michel Anguier designed it at 24 m tall, on the site of a medieval gate. It is the older of the two surviving Parisian triumphal arches, and the Arc de Triomphe was inspired by it more than a century later.
