The Clarity is the most readable gypsum nest we make (22 × 11 × 7 cm) — fewer internal walls, wider corridors, so brood placement, the queen, foraging trails and food stores all sit in plain view. The Clarity is the gypsum nest built for keepers who keep ants to watch them. Its chambers are deliberately open — fewer internal walls, wider corridors — so brood placement, the queen, foraging trails and food stores all stay easy to read at a glance. This is the most readable nest in the ANTonTOP line (22 × 11 × 7 cm), with cast gypsum holding a deep, even humidity the way underground soil does. Why the open layout works

The Clarity’s open chambers and wide corridors keep the whole colony in plain sight, ideal for beginners learning to read behaviour and for anyone who wants a nest that doubles as a display. It suits founding colonies and most small-to-medium species kept across Europe, including medium Camponotus and large Messor thanks to the 10–15 mm chamber height. Start a young colony in part of the nest and open the integrated arena as numbers grow; a snug start keeps the nest cleaner and more humid, while the open layout still lets you see everything.
Humidity and care
Fill the two humidity chambers and the gypsum wicks moisture into the surrounding chambers, holding an even gradient the colony can choose from. Top up the water every few days; the stone keeps the climate stable with none of the condensation swings of sealed acrylic. Breathable gypsum and light airflow keep the nest fresh — avoid over-watering, clear leftover food promptly, and leave a waterer empty for a day if a chamber gets too damp.
Setup and escape protection
The Clarity arrives clean and ready. Rinse the gypsum, let it take up water, connect a tube if joining an outworld, and populate — no curing, no fuss. The fitted lid and arena walls keep workers contained; for tiny or climbing species, a thin band of anti-escape fluid around the arena rim adds extra security. The sliding partition closes the integrated arena off while you feed or maintain.

A drinking dish or feeding plate keeps food off the substrate, protein and carbohydrate jelly covers steady nutrition, and soft tweezers handle clean feeding and gentle brood work.
