A real first home, sized for a founding colony

The Diamond is a compact acrylic nest with a 9 mm chamber, sized for a founding colony of up to roughly 200 to 300 workers. A humidification chamber holds the moisture young brood needs, escape protection keeps the colony where it belongs, and laser-cut ventilation keeps the air fresh. Clear acrylic on every side puts the first eggs, the first workers and the colony’s early weeks right in front of you. The acrylic is the same 3 mm layered stock used across the ANTonTOP range, with real humidification rather than a clip-on lid that lets a founding colony dry out. The bag of quartz sand, a few decorations, a feeder for sugar water or honey syrup and the precision tweezers dress and run it, with nothing more to buy once the ants are in.

Who it’s for, and as a gift

Breeding Kit 1 is for the keeper who supplies the colony, most often a founding queen from a test tube or a local nuptial flight, and it is the cheapest way to have a proper home standing by before flight season. No queen yet? Pair it with a live colony from our species range, or take a complete kit with the colony, formicarium and food in one box. For someone just getting into the hobby, an affordable proper first home makes a gift they will actually start with.

Setting up and feeding

Assemble the formicarium, lightly moisten the humidification chamber, and lay a thin bed of the included sand across the arena floor with a few decorations. Connect the arena to the nest where it applies, then introduce your queen or colony, keep the setup warm and quiet, and let them settle at their own pace. Use the feeder for sugar water or honey syrup, feed the species you add to its own diet, and as the colony outgrows the Diamond step it up to a larger nest such as the Crystal or Comfort.

Delivery and live arrival guarantee

We ship year-round, packed to protect the acrylic and any substrate in transit. A tracking number goes out on dispatch day, and every part is checked before it leaves us; if anything arrives damaged, contact us and we will replace it.

FAQ

What size colony does the Diamond suit?
A founding colony of up to roughly 200 to 300 workers. When it outgrows that, upgrade to a larger formicarium such as the Crystal, Comfort or a modular nest.

Are ants included?
No. You get the formicarium, arena, sand, feeder and tweezers, but no colony. Add your own queen or buy one from our range.

I don’t have a queen yet — is that a problem?
No. Many keepers buy this kit to be ready before flight season, so the home is waiting. Or pair it with a live colony or a complete kit.

Can I choose the colour?
Colour and sticker ship assorted as standard. Add a note at checkout or message us in advance and we will do our best to match a preference.

How long does delivery take?
1 to 2 days inside Poland (InPost); 2 to 3 days to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium (DHL); 3 to 5 days to France and the rest of the EU; 5 to 9 days to the United Kingdom; worldwide tracked and quoted at checkout.

A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.
