Description
Muted moss-green gravel that reads like algae-covered river pebbles, not a bright dye. The 1.5–8 mm mixed grade brings a woodland, riverbed texture to the floor. Inert, washed, colony-safe, colour fixed so it won’t bleed when sprayed. One 8×4×2 cm bag tops a 10×10 to 20×10 cm arena. Built for forest and riverbed scenes.
Lay a pebble path through a planted arena.

Green decorative stones for ant arenas
Green is the naturalist’s stone in the range. The tone is a muted moss-green that resembles algae-covered river pebbles, so it reads as natural ground rather than a bright accent. The grade is a mixed 1.5–8 mm natural stone, dyed and washed, chunkier than sand and finished with the same non-toxic colour-fixing as our quartz range. Supplied in an 8×4×2 cm bag, shipped from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery, and safe in direct contact with the colony.
What the riverbed look does
These are decor stones, not tunnelling substrate. The muted green and mixed grain give a woodland, riverbed feel that looks right next to moss stones and tree miniatures in a forest-floor scene. Because the colour is bonded to the stone, spraying or rinsing the arena won’t bleed green into the water dish or stain the acrylic.
Who it suits
Keepers building naturalistic forest and riverbed arenas, and anyone who wants a green that looks grown rather than dyed. It blends with natural and green sand for a layered woodland floor and sets off darker ants well.
How to use it
Scatter about 0.5–1 cm over fine sand for a top accent, or run a strip as a path or border between zones. The grain is too large for ants to tunnel, so it sits on top while the colony digs in the sand beneath. For a natural trail, lay a pebble path through a planted arena.
Pairs well with
Moss stones and miniature trees for a woodland scene, grass-green and brown quartz sand for a layered forest floor, and our other decorative-stone colours for accents.
FAQ
Is the colour safe for ants?
Yes. The non-toxic dye is fixed to the stone and safe in direct contact with the colony.
Will it bleed if the arena is sprayed?
No. The colour is bonded to each stone, so misting and rinsing don’t transfer it.
Will ants dig in it?
No. The 1.5–8 mm grain is too large to tunnel. Use it over a sand layer the ants can dig in.
How much does one bag cover?
The 8×4×2 cm bag covers roughly a 10×10 to 20×10 cm arena as a top accent layer.
Can I combine it with other colours?
Yes. Pair it with other decorative-stone colours or quartz sand for layered, themed scenes.
