Orange quartz sand for desert and canyon ant arenas
Where yellow reads as midday sand, orange reads as the sunset. Its warm, sun-baked tone is the pick for Egyptian and southwestern desert builds, setting a canyon stage the moment it lands. It is inert silica quartz, dyed with non-toxic colour and washed clean, with a very fine grain of roughly 0.01–0.05 mm (well under 1 mm). It comes in an 8×4×2 cm bag and ships from Poland across the EU, UK and worldwide.

The colour is fixed to each grain rather than loosely coated, so spraying or rinsing the arena won’t wash colour into the water dish or stain the acrylic. Tunnelling species such as Messor, Lasius and Formica work fine quartz much as they would natural sand, so a deeper bed gives visible burrowing. Pair it with pyramid or sphinx miniatures for a full desert scene, or blend with natural sand for a muted dune tone.
