Description
No other gypsum nest we make hands you this much control. The Marble L (20 × 20 × 7 cm) splits its large nest into five sections with five sliding latches — start a colony of 5–15 founders in one fifth and open the rest one section at a time, so it never gets more room than it can manage. Four humidity chambers hold a deep, even climate throughout; chambers run 10–15 mm.
Raise a colony its whole life in one nest — order the Marble L.

Formicarium Marble L — five-stage expansion in a large gypsum ant nest
Most large nests force a choice on a founding colony: start it somewhere smaller, or drop it into a big empty space where it cannot keep the air moist or the corners clean. This large gypsum ant nest removes that choice. Five sliding latches divide the Marble L (20 × 20 × 7 cm) into five sections — the finest staged control of any nest in the ANTonTOP gypsum line — so a colony of 5–15 founders begins in one fifth and opens the rest one section at a time. Cast stone holds the deep, even humidity big moisture-loving colonies want across the full 20 × 20 cm footprint, carrying them from first workers to a mature population without a stressful relocation. Acrylic body, cast-gypsum interior, shipped with tracked EU and worldwide delivery.

Why five-stage control works
Giving a colony a little more room at a time mirrors how nests grow underground, where ants excavate new chambers only as the population demands them. The Marble L’s five latches let you run a whole colony’s life inside one formicarium, opening space exactly when the colony is ready and never sooner, so the nest always feels right-sized. It suits humidity-loving species and keepers who want full command of growth, from the founding stage to a large, mature colony.
Humidity and care
Fill the four humidity chambers and the gypsum wicks moisture into the surrounding cells, holding an even gradient the colony can choose from. Top up the water every few days; the stone keeps the climate stable with none of the condensation swings of sealed acrylic. Avoid over-watering, clear leftover food promptly, and leave a waterer empty for a day if a chamber gets too damp. The stone wipes down easily; spot-clean the arena and do not force the latches while the colony is active.
Setup and escape protection
The Marble L arrives clean and ready. Rinse the gypsum, let it take up water, connect a tube if joining an outworld, and populate; no curing, no fuss. The fitted lid and arena walls keep workers contained, and for tiny or climbing species a thin band of anti-escape fluid around the arena rim adds security. The sliding partition closes off the integrated arena while you feed or maintain.
Pairs well with
A drinking dish or feeding plate keeps food off the substrate, protein and carbohydrate jelly covers balanced nutrition, and soft tweezers make feeding clean. A tube connection adds an arena or links to a modular nest from our formicaria range once the full nest is in use. Dress the arena with sand, a stone or moss, kept easy to feed and clean.
FAQ
What makes the Marble L unique?
Five latches — five-stage expansion, the most controllable gypsum nest we make.
Can I start a small colony in it?
That is the whole idea. Begin a colony of 5–15 founders in one fifth and open sections as it grows.
How often do I add water?
Usually every few days; top up the four humidity chambers and let the gypsum spread the moisture.
How does the staged expansion help?
Opening one section at a time stops the colony getting more space than it can manage, which keeps the nest cleaner and more humid.
Can I connect more space?
Yes — link an arena or modular nest by tube once the full nest is in use.
How is it shipped?
Dispatched in 24 h from Poland with tracked EU and worldwide delivery, year-round with heat or cool packs and a live arrival guarantee.
A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.

Zuzia (verified owner) –
Boże, ten formikarium to prawdziwy cud!
