Description

When shelf space is the constraint, the Prism 10×10 cm wins on density: tightly packed chambers cram an unusually generous amount of nest into the smallest footprint, and the close walls trap a steadier warmth and humidity. Lockable nut-and-screw ports, a sponge chamber and 9 mm rooms suit up to ~350 Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor or smaller Camponotus.

Description

Modular Nest Prism 10×10 cm — compact-dense acrylic ant nest for tight shelves

This acrylic ant nest packs the most usable room into a single 10×10 module: tightly set chambers use every square centimetre, so a small shelf holds a surprisingly large nest. The close-set walls also trap a steadier warmth and humidity than a sparse layout of the same size. It’s part of the ANTonTOP modular range — acrylic modules you link into a setup that grows with the colony — made in Poland and shipped with tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide.

Why the compact-dense layout works

Packing more chambers into a small footprint means more nest without surrendering more shelf space, and because the closely set chambers share walls they hold heat and moisture more evenly, a cosy, stable microclimate that suits species which like things slightly warm. If room is tight, or you simply want the most colony in a compact display, this is the 10×10 that does it.

Who it’s for

The Prism fits a small to medium colony of up to about 350 workers, with 9 mm rooms that suit most popular species, among them Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor harvester ants and small to medium Camponotus. Ideal for keepers short on room, for a tidy desk display, or as a high-capacity module inside a larger setup. The four lockable nut-and-screw entrances take standard tubing to arenas and other modules, so one nest expands into a custom formicarium as the colony grows, with no stressful full moves and no handling the queen. When the Prism fills, link another module or a 20×10 nest and let the ants migrate across at their own pace.

Humidity and care

A single sponge chamber keeps the nest evenly moist. Refill it through the 3 mm syringe port once or twice a week; the water spreads passively through the sponge without reaching the living chambers, and the dense layout helps that moisture hold across the module rather than drying at the edges. The smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear for viewing.

Setup and escape protection

Cap any unused entrances, run a tube to your access point, charge the sponge, and introduce the colony. The sealed acrylic body and locked ports keep workers where they belong.

Pairs well with

An ANTonTOP outworld or arena for foraging, a length of standard connection tubing, and a spare water-charged test tube for founding colonies. A second 10×10 module or a 20×10 nest extends the system through the same ports.

FAQ

How much more nest do I get from the dense layout?
The tightly packed chambers fit an unusually generous amount of usable nest into a 10×10 footprint, more than a sparse layout of the same size, without taking more shelf space.

Does the density affect the climate inside?
Yes, helpfully: the closely set chambers share walls and trap a steadier warmth and humidity, which suits species that like a stable, slightly warm nest.

How many ants does it hold?
Up to roughly 350 workers. When the colony outgrows it, connect another module or a larger nest and let the ants move across.

Which species suit it?
The 9 mm rooms fit most popular species, Lasius and Tetramorium through to small and medium Camponotus.

How do I add water?
Through the 3 mm syringe port into the sponge chamber, once or twice a week.

Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes — tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide, dispatched within 24 hours from Poland with heat or cool packs as the season needs.

A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.
