Description

Once a colony pushes past 800 workers, foraging happens in waves and a cramped outworld turns into a bottleneck. The Modular Arena 20×20 cm answers that with a full-size clear acrylic floor where 800 to 1300+ workers can hunt and feed without crowding. It bolts onto the 20×20 Matrix and Helix nests through eight lockable nut-and-screw entrances and a 10 mm port, while laser-cut micro-perforation keeps the air moving and the ants inside. Dimensions 20×20×12 cm, made in Poland.

Description

Modular Arena 20×20 cm — clear acrylic foraging outworld for established ant colonies of 800–1300+ workers

Sitting at the top of the ANTonTOP modular range, this full-size clear acrylic arena is the outworld that connects to the nest and hands an established colony a place to hunt, haul food and roam. It measures 20×20×12 cm, with 12 cm of internal height, and mates with the 20×20 nests Matrix and Helix, so colonies of 800–1300+ workers get a proportionate, escape-resistant stage for all that activity. Slot it into a modular build through eight lockable nut-and-screw entrances, a 10 mm tubing port and laser-cut micro-perforation. We ship from Poland all year with heat or cool packs and a live-arrival guarantee, across the EU, the UK and worldwide.

Why add an arena

A colony keeps its foraging, feeding and waste away from the brood, and an arena gives them that dedicated room while keeping the nest clean, dry and easy to watch at its busiest. The difference shows with big colonies: they forage in waves, and a full-size 20×20 outworld lets dozens of workers be out together instead of jamming up the way a small arena would.

How the modular system grows

Every piece in the range joins through the same standard lockable ports, so you run a tube from the nest, keep adding modules as numbers climb, and shape a custom layout without ever forcing a stressful full move. Here the 10 mm port and eight entrances lock it to the Matrix and Helix nests and pass the connection on to further modules.

Setup and escape protection

Between the smooth acrylic walls and the nut-and-screw entrance caps, the colony stays put. Cap the ports you are not using, tube the ones you are, and the arena holds secure. Laser-cut micro-perforation pushes air through with no gap wide enough for even the smallest worker, so the space stays dry and mould has less to work with. Determined climbers get a light barrier of PTFE or talc at the rim as extra insurance.

Decorate and feed

This is your part to design, and 20×20 cm is enough for a genuine landscape. Lay down sand, stones, cork bark or moss and you have a natural setting full of surfaces to explore. It doubles as the dining room too: put out a drinker, a little protein and some sugar or ant jelly, then watch the foragers ferry it back home. Spot-clean any leftovers to keep things fresh — the smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear.

Pairs well with

The 20×20 Matrix or Helix nest, connecting tubing, a drinker and ant jelly for feeding, and sand, stones, cork bark or moss to build a planted scene. Architecture arena décor and quartz sand finish the outworld as a display piece.

FAQ

What does an arena do?
It is the foraging and feeding space outside the nest, where the colony hunts, eats and dumps waste, which keeps the nest clean and dry.

Which nest does this arena fit?
It is sized for the 20×20 nests Matrix and Helix and connects to any ANTonTOP modular nest through a standard tube.

How do I stop ants escaping?
Close unused ports with their nut-and-screw caps (a screwdriver is handy here); smooth acrylic walls and micro-perforation venting do the rest, with a light rim barrier for determined climbers.

What size colony is it for?
Established colonies of 800–1300+ workers that need a full-size outworld to forage without bottlenecks.

Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes. We dispatch from Poland with tracked delivery across the EU, the UK and worldwide.
