Description
Running ten founding queens at once? Tube Holder 10 keeps them in line: a rack for 10 test tubes (16 mm) on a steady, anti-tip base, so no tubes roll off the desk and no colonies get tipped over by morning. It also keeps track of which tube holds which queen. Tough plastic that wipes clean and disinfects between colonies, fitting standard ant-keeping and lab tubes. Built for breeders juggling several species.
Bring order to ten founding queens — add one to your bench.

Tube Holder 10 — test-tube rack that keeps ten founding queens upright
This test-tube rack holds up to 10 tubes of 16 mm standing on a single anti-tip stand. Once you’re running several founding colonies, watching multiple species side by side or managing a small breeding bench, loose tubes become a problem: they roll and tip, and one stray nudge can put a queen on her side overnight. The rack keeps every tube standing, sorted and in view, so brood is easy to check, colonies stay clearly separated and none get mixed up. It ships from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery.

Why a rack at all
Founding queens live in test tubes for weeks or months, and a tube lying loose on a desk is a colony waiting to roll off or get knocked. A rack fixes each tube in place so you can read the brood without picking it up, keep colonies plainly apart and never confuse two queens. It’s the small, inexpensive upgrade that turns a cluttered bench of propped-up tubes into something you can manage.
Who it’s for
Built for breeders and anyone running several species or founding colonies at once. Ten slots suit a keeper whose collection has well outgrown a couple of tubes leaning on a book and who wants them labelled, tidy and visible on one stable stand. Keep fewer queens than that and the Tube Holder 5 offers the same design in a smaller five-slot size.
Setup and care
Stand each 16 mm tube in a slot with the cotton plug and water reservoir facing you, label the tubes, and set the rack somewhere quiet and out of direct sun. The weighted base holds 10 full tubes steady, so the whole row stays put when you lift one to inspect or feed. Between colonies, pull the tubes, wipe the rack down and disinfect it before reloading. The plastic reuses season after season with nothing carried over and nothing to wear out — keep it dry when idle and it lasts indefinitely.
Pairs well with
Founding-stage test tubes, cotton wool for plugs, a syringe for refilling water reservoirs and soft tweezers. As founding colonies grow and move into their first nests, the rack empties for the next round of queens.
