Ruins, not a pristine monument. This Greek temple piece is a 4 × 3.5 × 2 cm hand-finished resin cluster of broken Doric columns and half-fallen walls, the way ancient temples actually survive. Description

Greek temple ruins miniature — classical Doric columns resin decoration for ant arenas and formicaria

This is a ruin, and that is the appeal. A 4 × 3.5 × 2 cm hand-finished resin cluster of broken Doric columns and partial walls, modelled the way most ancient Greek temples actually survive rather than as a clean reconstruction. The fragments give the colony a characterful centrepiece full of edges and nooks.

Looks and shelter in one piece

Standing column fragments make vertical surfaces to climb, while the broken walls and gaps create small pockets where workers gather, so the ruins read as terrain as much as decoration. Larger climbers such as Camponotus and Polyrhachis tend to adopt it as a route. Cast in inert resin with no harmful coatings, it is safe for direct ant contact. The piece carries a Mediterranean or classical theme and sits handsomely against pale sand, which sets off the weathered resin.

How to place it

Set it on the substrate in the open arena. It works from compact acrylic setups like the Ziom or Comfort up to large terrariums, and suits arenas from roughly 20 × 20 cm upward. Surround it with sand and a few stones to sell the ruin, and keep the base clear so foragers pass through. Wipe with a damp cloth when needed, rinse and air-dry if soiled, and avoid harsh detergents and long sun.

About the landmark

Greek temples were built mostly between the 7th and 4th centuries BC, post-and-lintel construction in marble or limestone. Earthquakes, time and centuries of stone-robbing reduced most to fragments like these; Selinunte in Sicily and the temple at Bassae show what genuine temple ruins look like today.

Pairs well with

Quartz sand and decorative stones for the base, moss stones for a weathered biotope feel, and the Roman Pantheon or Colosseum miniatures for a classical-world arena.

How big is it, and is it safe for ants?
4 × 3.5 × 2 cm, inert resin, safe for direct ant contact; ants walk on it without harm.

What arena size fits it?
Any format from about 20 × 20 cm upward, compact acrylic arenas through to large terrariums.

Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes, dispatched within 24 h with tracked delivery across the EU, the UK and worldwide; EU shipping is free over 1299 zł.
