Description
More capacity, the same safe profile. The Acrylic Drinking Bowl XL holds the most of the clear range at 3.2 cm across and 3 cm high, so a populous colony stretches further between refills, while the shallow walk-in slope still lets the smallest workers drink and climb out. Its clear side shows the level at a glance, and the inert cast acrylic wipes clean. Takes water, sugar water, diluted honey or liquid jelly.
More water, fewer refills, for a thriving colony.

Acrylic Drinking Bowl XL — clear cast-acrylic water and feed dish for ants
More volume, no trade-off. The Acrylic Drinking Bowl XL is the largest clear dish in the range — 3.2 cm in diameter and 3 cm high — made for busy arenas and established colonies that get through more water. Rim still low, slope still gentle, so even the smallest workers step in, drink and climb back out despite the bigger capacity. It serves as both water and liquid-feed dish, and ships sealed from Poland with tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide.

Why bigger is still safe
More capacity does not mean a deeper trap. The dish stays shallow with a sloped wall, so ants walk down to the liquid and back out as they would in the smaller sizes; the extra volume sits across the base, not in depth. The clear acrylic shows the level at a glance, so a thirsty colony never empties it unnoticed, and the surface wipes clean without holding stains or odours.
Who it’s for
The XL suits established, populous colonies, larger arenas and high-traffic outworlds where a smaller dish empties too fast and needs constant topping up. It works for the full range of kept species. If you keep a thirsty species or simply want fewer daily refills, this is the size.
How to use it
Stand the bowl in a corner, away from the nest entrance, so spills stay clear of the brood. Fill with clean water for daily drinking, or use it for sugar water, diluted honey or liquid jelly. Even with the larger capacity, rinse and refill regularly to keep the liquid fresh and head off mould or fermentation. No cotton or pebble is needed, though you can add one for the very smallest species.
Pairs well with
It sits naturally alongside our jellies, honey and protein foods for a complete feeding station, and beside the smaller acrylic bowls for a second water point or to separate water from liquid food. Stand it on a firm quartz-sand or decorative-stone floor so it stays level.
Care and maintenance
Rinse under running water between refills and clean more thoroughly when residue builds up. Avoid abrasive scourers that could scratch the clear surface. Let it dry or refill straight away. A basic rinse keeps it clear and hygienic long term.
FAQ
Will small ants drown in it?
No. Despite the larger size, the shallow walk-in shape lets even the smallest workers step in, drink and climb out.
Can I use it for food as well as water?
Yes. Clean water, sugar water, diluted honey and liquid jelly all work.
What size is the XL bowl?
3.2 cm in diameter and 3 cm high, the largest size in the acrylic range.
Which colonies is the XL best for?
Established, populous colonies, larger arenas and high-traffic outworlds that need more water between refills.
Is the acrylic safe for my ants?
Yes. It is inert cast acrylic, ant-safe in direct contact with queens, brood and workers.
How is it shipped?
Sealed and well packed, dispatched within 24 hours from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery.
