Description
Where most small gypsum nests give you two humidity chambers, the Pearl S gives you four. Double the gypsum surface means steadier, more even moisture across this compact nest (22 × 11 × 7 cm) — the steadiest humidity in our small format, and a forgiving first home for moisture-sensitive species and founding colonies that struggle with dry swings. Two latches stage colony access; chambers run 10–15 mm.
Let the gypsum handle the climate. Order your Pearl S today.

Formicarium Pearl S — small gypsum ant nest with double the humidity chambers
Keep a species that sulks the moment its nest dries out, and humidity stability becomes the thing that matters most. This small gypsum ant nest is built for it. The Pearl S (22 × 11 × 7 cm) carries four humidity chambers where most small nests have two — double the gypsum surface, which spreads damp more evenly and holds a steadier climate than any other small nest we make. Cast stone behaves like the soil ants nest in underground, absorbing water and releasing it slowly, so founding colonies and moisture-sensitive species settle into a forgiving, stable climate while they grow. Dispatched from Poland with tracked EU, UK and worldwide delivery for keepers across Europe.

Why four humidity chambers matter, and who it’s for
With four chambers instead of two, the damp reaches the whole nest evenly, so the colony always finds the gradient it wants without a dry corner forcing it to crowd. This is the small nest to choose when you would rather have the climate handled for you than fight it every day — compact and good-looking, it sits neatly on a shelf or desk while doing the quiet work. It suits founding colonies and small, humidity-loving species that prefer steady damp conditions — Lasius, Temnothorax, founding Camponotus queens, Pheidole and similar — sized for exactly that early stage, when a young colony keeps a small nest cleaner and more humid than a large one.
Humidity and care
Fill the four humidity chambers and the gypsum wicks moisture into the surrounding cells. Top up the water every few days; the stone does the rest, and if a chamber looks too wet, leave one waterer empty for a day to rebalance. Gypsum is sturdy and easy to wipe down: spot-clean the arena, clear leftover food promptly, and do not force the latches while the colony is active. Breathable gypsum and light airflow keep the nest fresh.
Setup and escape protection
The Pearl S arrives clean and ready. Rinse the gypsum, let it take up water, connect a tube if joining an outworld, and populate. No curing needed. The fitted lid and arena walls keep workers contained, and for tiny or climbing species a thin band of anti-escape fluid around the arena rim adds security. The sliding partition keeps the colony close at first, opening the arena as numbers build, and when the colony outgrows the Pearl S you connect a larger nest or arena by tube.
Pairs well with
A drinking dish, protein and carbohydrate jelly food, and soft tweezers cover clean feeding. Dress the integrated arena with a little quartz sand, a decorative stone or some moss for a tidy foraging space and display piece. A tube connection links nests as the colony grows.
FAQ
What sets the Pearl S apart from other small gypsum nests?
Four humidity chambers instead of two — more even, more reliable moisture across the whole nest.
Is it good for a founding queen?
Yes. It is ideal for founding colonies and small humidity-loving species.
How does the Pearl S differ from the Marble S?
Both have four humidity chambers; the Marble S adds a third latch for finer staged access, while the Pearl S keeps two latches.
How often do I add water?
Usually every few days. Top up the four humidity chambers and let the gypsum spread it.
Can I expand later?
Yes. Connect a bigger nest or an arena by tube whenever the colony needs more room.
Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes. We dispatch within 24 h from Poland with tracked DHL across the EU and EMS worldwide, year-round with heat or cool packs and a live arrival guarantee.
