Description

Four arms of chambers meet at one junction, so nothing in the Pulsar 10×10 cm sits more than a short hop from the centre, so traffic stays quick and brood care stays efficient. Lockable nut-and-screw ports (one per arm), a sponge chamber and 9 mm rooms suit up to ~350 Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor or smaller Camponotus, and it links into a growing modular setup.

Description

Modular Nest Pulsar 10×10 cm — cross-pattern acrylic ant nest with short routes

This acrylic ant nest is laid out as a cross: a central junction with four arms of chambers radiating off it, so every room sits one short hop from the middle. Short routes from a core keep a colony running smoothly, the way many wild nests are arranged. It’s part of the ANTonTOP modular range — acrylic modules you link into a setup that grows with the colony — made in Poland and shipped with tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide.

Why the cross-pattern layout works

With four arms feeding one junction, no chamber is ever far from the heart of the nest, so worker traffic and brood care stay efficient and the colony settles into a clean, balanced shape with less congestion than a long, linear nest. It makes a tidy display too: activity radiates out from the centre, easy to track through the acrylic.

Who it’s for

The Pulsar fits a small to medium colony of up to about 350 workers, with 9 mm rooms that suit most popular species, among them Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor harvester ants and small to medium Camponotus. A solid first acrylic nest, and an efficient module within a larger system. Each of the four arms ends in a lockable nut-and-screw entrance, and all of them take standard tubing to arenas and other modules — so you can branch the nest in four directions and expand into a custom formicarium as the colony grows, with no stressful full moves and no handling the queen. When the Pulsar fills, link another module or a 20×10 nest and let the ants migrate across at their own pace.

Humidity and care

A single sponge chamber keeps the nest evenly moist. Refill it through the 3 mm syringe port once or twice a week; the water spreads passively through the sponge without reaching the living chambers, holding a steady level the colony can settle into. The smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear for viewing.

Setup and escape protection

Cap any unused entrances, connect a tube to one of the four arms, charge the sponge, and introduce the colony. The sealed acrylic body and locked ports keep workers where they belong.

Pairs well with

An ANTonTOP outworld or arena for foraging, a length of standard connection tubing, and a spare water-charged test tube for founding colonies. A second 10×10 module or a 20×10 nest extends the system through the same ports.

FAQ

Why a central junction instead of a straight row of rooms?
Four arms meeting at one junction keep every chamber a short hop from the middle, so traffic doesn’t bottleneck and brood care stays efficient.

Can I run tubes from more than one arm?
Yes. Each of the four arms ends in its own lockable entrance, so you can branch the nest in several directions to arenas or other modules.

How many ants does it hold?
Up to roughly 350 workers. When the colony outgrows it, connect another module or a larger nest and let the ants move across.

Which species suit it?
The 9 mm rooms fit most popular species, Lasius and Tetramorium through to small and medium Camponotus.

How do I add water?
Through the 3 mm syringe port into the sponge chamber, once or twice a week.

Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes — tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide, dispatched within 24 hours from Poland with heat or cool packs as the season needs.

A note on care: each item is built for a specific job — please use it only as intended. Responsibility for correct, safe use rests with the keeper; ANTonTOP accepts no liability for misuse or damage from improper use.
