Description
Most 10×10 nests are flat. The Tower stacks four floors onto that same footprint, so the colony moves brood up and down the levels to chase the warmth it wants. Lockable nut-and-screw ports, a sponge chamber and 9 mm rooms suit up to ~350 Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor or smaller Camponotus, and it links into a growing modular setup.
Let the colony pick its floor by climate.

Modular Nest Tower 10×10 cm — multi-floor vertical acrylic ant nest
This is the only multi-floor module in the 10×10 range: four levels stacked on one 10×10 footprint, so the colony gains real vertical depth and a floor-to-floor climate gradient that echoes the warmth-to-cool shift of an underground nest. Like every nest in the ANTonTOP modular range, it’s an acrylic module you link into a setup that grows with the colony — made in Poland and shipped with tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide.

Why the vertical layout works
Wild colonies carry brood up and down through the soil to find the right temperature, and four stacked floors let a captive colony do the same. Going upward instead of outward packs far more chamber space onto a small footprint, so you get high capacity without surrendering shelf width. Warm the base and the gradient builds itself, drier and cooler up top, warmer and more humid below, and the colony sorts its brood across the floors accordingly. That vertical shuffle is one of the more natural behaviours a nest brings out.
Who it’s for
The Tower fits a small to medium colony of up to about 350 workers, with 9 mm rooms that suit most popular species, including Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor harvester ants and small to medium Camponotus. Reach for it when shelf space is tight, when you want a striking vertical display, or when you want to hand the colony a real climate gradient to exploit. The four lockable nut-and-screw entrances take standard tubing to arenas and other modules, so one nest expands into a custom formicarium as the colony grows, with no full moves and no lifting the queen by hand. When the Tower fills, link another module or a larger nest and let the ants walk across in their own time.
Humidity and care
One sponge chamber feeds moisture through the stack. Refill it through the 3 mm syringe port once or twice a week and the water spreads passively without flooding the rooms. Because moisture settles downward, the lower floors stay a touch more humid than the upper ones, giving the colony a built-in choice of conditions. The smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear across all four levels.
Setup and escape protection
Cap any entrances you aren’t using, run a tube to the floor you want as the access point, charge the sponge, and introduce the colony. The sealed acrylic body and locked ports keep workers inside.
Pairs well with
An ANTonTOP outworld or arena for foraging, standard connection tubing, and a gentle heat mat under the base to set the floor-to-floor gradient. A second module or a larger nest extends the system through the same ports later on.
FAQ
What makes the Tower different from the flat 10×10 nests?
It stacks four floors on the same 10×10 footprint, the only multi-floor module in the range, giving the colony vertical space and a real climate gradient between levels.
How do I get the temperature gradient going?
Place a gentle heat source under the base. Warmth rises through the stack and the colony chooses its floor; the lower floors also hold slightly more humidity.
How many ants does it hold?
Up to roughly 350 workers. When it fills, connect another module or a larger nest and let the colony migrate.
Which species suit it?
The 9 mm rooms fit most popular species, Lasius and Tetramorium through to small and medium Camponotus.
How do I add water?
Through the 3 mm syringe port into the sponge chamber, once or twice a week.
Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes — tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide, dispatched within 24 hours from Poland with heat or cool packs as the season needs.
