About This Landmark
Same Easter Island Moai theme as our standard Moai miniature, but rendered as a more detailed 3D model – full body rather than just the head silhouette. The Moai are 887 monolithic figures carved by the Rapa Nui people between 1250 and 1500 AD from Rano Raraku quarry’s volcanic tuff. Although they are commonly depicted as ‘just heads’, the figures actually have torsos and arms – many are buried up to the shoulders in centuries of accumulated soil.
When to Use
Place in the open arena of your formicarium. It works in arenas of all sizes – even compact acrylic setups like the Ziom or Comfort, right up to large terrariums. Looks especially striking against contrasting substrate – white sand below dark resin, or vice versa. Larger colonies often adopt it as a route or perch.
