Description
Your colony loved the orderly Quad grid and simply outgrew it. The Quad 20×10 cm carries the same clearly-zoned rooms onto a wider footprint — more of them, so a bigger colony keeps brood, food and waste apart without crowding. Six lockable ports, two sponge chambers, one internal latch and 9 mm rooms house ~400–800 Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor or smaller Camponotus.
The Quad grid, sized for a bigger colony.

Modular Nest Quad 20×10 cm — large square-grid acrylic ant nest for a growing colony
This large acrylic ant nest is the bigger sibling of the 10×10 Quad, for a colony that has outgrown the smaller grid. It stretches the same clearly-zoned square grid across a wider 20×10 footprint and hands a larger colony the same organised rooms, just more of them. It’s part of the ANTonTOP modular range — acrylic modules you link into a setup that grows with the colony — made in Poland and shipped with tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide.

Why the larger square-grid layout works
As colonies grow they separate functions even more strictly, keeping brood, food and waste firmly apart. More grid rooms across the wider footprint give a bigger colony the space to hold that order as numbers climb, without crowding. It’s the same tidy, easy-to-read grid as the 10×10 Quad, scaled up, the same satisfying observation at a larger size.
Who it’s for
The Quad 20×10 fits a growing colony of roughly 400 to 800 workers, with 9 mm rooms that suit most popular species, including Lasius, Tetramorium, Messor harvester ants and small to medium Camponotus. It’s the natural next nest after the 10×10 Quad, and a strong mid-size home in its own right. One internal latch splits the nest into two sections, so you can hold a freshly rehoused colony in one half and open the rest as it grows. The six lockable nut-and-screw entrances take standard tubing to arenas and other modules, so the Quad 20×10 drops straight into a custom formicarium — start with it as the colony’s home and add outworlds or further modules without ever handling the queen.
Humidity and care
Two sponge chambers keep the longer grid evenly moist end to end. Refill them through the 3 mm syringe port once or twice a week; the water spreads passively through the sponges without reaching the living chambers, holding a steady level the colony can settle into. The smooth acrylic wipes clean and stays clear for viewing.
Setup and escape protection
Cap any unused entrances, run a tube to your access point, charge both sponges, and introduce the colony — opening the second section once the first fills. Sealed acrylic and locked ports keep workers contained.
Pairs well with
An ANTonTOP outworld or arena for foraging, standard connection tubing, and a smaller 10×10 module the colony can keep as a satellite. As it keeps growing, a 20×20 nest connects through the same ports for the next stage.
FAQ
How is this different from the 10×10 Quad?
Same clearly-zoned square grid, wider footprint — more rooms across a 20×10 body for a larger colony, holding roughly 400 to 800 workers instead of about 350.
How many ants does it hold?
Roughly 400 to 800 workers. The internal latch lets you open it in two stages as the colony grows.
Which species suit it?
The 9 mm rooms fit most popular species, Lasius and Tetramorium through to small and medium Camponotus.
How do I add water?
Through the 3 mm syringe port into the two sponge chambers, once or twice a week.
Can I connect it to other nests and arenas?
Yes. The six lockable nut-and-screw entrances accept standard tubing to arenas and other modules for a custom, growing setup.
Do you ship outside Poland?
Yes — tracked delivery across the EU, UK and worldwide, dispatched within 24 hours from Poland with heat or cool packs as the season needs.
