Buddha Statue Miniature

The casting catches the folds of the robe and the calm expression of a seated Buddha in the dhyana pose, hands resting in the lap. In the arena it offers a rounded surface to climb and a still anchor that lifts a plain acrylic or gypsum setup into a display. Set on light substrate, the smooth form reads clearly against the grain of sand and stone. Larger colonies make the most of the climbing surface; smaller ones keep it as a calm decorative anchor.

Set it in a corner or as a centrepiece, ideally on a bed of light substrate to set off the shape. It works from compact acrylic setups like the Ziom or Comfort up to large terrariums. Wipe with a damp cloth, rinse and air-dry if soiled, and keep it clear of harsh detergents and long direct sun.

Buddha figures have been carved across Asia for more than 2,000 years, depicting Siddhartha Gautama, who lived in northern India in the 6th–5th century BC. The seated meditation pose shown here is among the most common, found in temples from Sri Lanka through Tibet, Thailand, China and Japan; regional styles vary, but the seated, hands-on-lap form is shared everywhere.
