Beginner lifehack: match the space to the colony
This is a nest for a sizeable colony. If yours is still building, keep it in part of the nest at first and open sections as it grows, so the space always feels right-sized.
How the humidity system works
Giant XL uses an internal sponge humidity system. Add water through the 3 mm port with a syringe once or twice a week and it spreads passively between the acrylic layers, keeping the nest evenly moist without ever wetting the colony directly. No spraying, no guesswork.
Ventilation and mold prevention
Laser-cut micro-perforations run through the arena and nest, giving continuous passive airflow without drafts. Fresh air and controlled moisture keep condensation and mold away – just don’t over-water, and clear leftover food promptly.
Escape protection
The fitted acrylic lid and arena walls keep workers contained. For tiny or climbing species, a thin band of anti-escape fluid around the arena rim adds extra security.
